Norbert Filep

Biography

Norbert Filep codifies his ideas and thoughts by using a variety of forms, colours, geometries, thus his oeuvre is articulated within an abstract language. The result is a body of work where the experimental side is present, controlled or even encrypted sometimes, therefore the process and the structures within, specific for each of the explored mediums, are deconstructed for creating a new set of random puzzles. Using different qualities and resources of various mediums, such as drawing, painting, sculpture or installation, he is questioning the plasticity of this reinvented abstract language. By using well controlled geometries, repetitions, different layers of colour or graphite, or even materials like glass, Norbert Filep creates abstract compositions which are questioning the role of contemporary imagery inside of a well digitalized society.
